It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas..

In the Dickson house, we are all decorated. Our presents are bought, and wrapped and we are ready for Christmas!  Last year, when I started decorating my house.. several people started asking me what my theme was. For instance, was I going to use snowmen, or angels, or bears, or gingerbread men, so on and so on. I decided to use the word JOY. I had several JOY things already from my Christmas shower my favorite girlies threw for me.. and I have gotten several more JOY themed presents since then. So I am not collecting anything specific.. but I do want our holiday to be filled with JOY and remembering the one who brought us the only true JOY when he came into the world as a small baby.
I made this Christmas countdown for Jeff. Each day has something special. Either a verse to read, a reason why I love him, a fun task to do, or an act of service from me… I am sure he will love it!
We, and by we I mean I wanted to keep the colors more nuteral. I mean everyone does red and green… So we went more neutral to match our living room.  Black, silver, creams and whites.

This sign is for our Christmas cards :) As well as hanging around the door. Cards make beautiful decorations!
In the dining room, the only appropriate color was purple. So purple accents everywhere.

Not pictured is the craft room, where my pink tree resides. And the pantry where a darling Noel banner is displayed.I am excited to post about our many Christmas adventures coming up! (and the fun things that we will be doing form the Christmas countdown… get excited!)

I will leave you with this.. pictures inside of ornaments are just to die for :)

Oh what I have to be thankful for!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorites. I love the colors, I love the food, and I love spending time with family and friends that I adore. No kidding, I have the best family in the world.  Although, we did miss seeing our Texas family!
Here is a glimpse into our thanksgiving:
Lots of food

Lots of friends and family, and these are some of the best friends and family anyone could ask for. Beyond blessed by them!

Playing lots of games, and doing nails is a must. (longstanding tradition right there)

The of course, after the meal.. everyone who is anyone is out black Friday shopping. These guys had to drag me off the couch, (see I had already gotten most of my Christmas presents, and wrapped them)  but once we got started, much fun was had by all… and I ended up getting a few more things to add to gifts, it’s hard to pass up a super great deal! And how could you not want to spend time with these super fun faces!

The boys waited in long lines, while we lived it up in the warm car.

The rest of the night was spent going back and forth to several places, trying to find the best deals.

It wouldn't be black Friday, without chick-filla at three in the morning. We had a great time, and we still look pretty good for 3 AM!

A day with my girls! (+ Brian Regan)

Some of my favorite girls came to hang out with me this weekend. We had so much fun. These girls are quite special. They encourage me, they make me laugh, they hlep me to be a better person, and it was super refreshing to spend some much needed, and long overdue time with my precious friends!

Of course lots of pictures were taken..

On the way to the musem, we had to park.. It was a group effort, but Caroline for sure lead the team!

we went to the art musem where we did a scavenger hunt. There was much fun had by all.

The children's section of the musem it the most fun in my opinion. We drew pictures, and made stars to be hung on the Roanoke Tree for Christmas!

After "winning" the scavenger hunt, we recieved our prize.. anything tie dyed is a true prize :)

That afternoon we ate lunch. It was glorious.

I love these girls so much, and I am so thankful for the impact that they have had on my life. They have been with me through the thick and thin. They have seen me cry, they have seen me excited, they listen to me laugh, and they love me through it all. These girls have no idea how much they mean to me, and that makes them even more special! Thanks for coming to spend the night girlies, thanks for hanging out with me saturday, and thanks for simply being you!

Later that evening Jeff and I went to a Brian Regan concert with our cousins. We have been a fan of Brian Regan for some time now, and it has always been a goal of ours to see him in person. He is truly gifted in making others laugh, and he keeps it clean (which we love)

We all met up for dinner beforehand, and two of the boys happened to be dressed alike. Haha. Its usually me and Britt, but I think we are rubbing off on our husbands! :)

Then the girls all wore grey--not planned either!

We were excited, and it was great night!

Special Thanks to Daniel and Ivy for picking up the tickets for us! ;)
