moving day!

Jeff and I are so blessed to have the world’s best people as our dear friends. I am not kidding. These people are servants, hard workers, funny, and all around simply the best. We are beyond blessed. Special shout out to Brittany and Nathan, Matt and Jo, Katie and Spencer, Mark and Becky, Paul and Wanda, Robbie and Jean, Ivy, My parents, Jeffs parents, and everyone who said a quick prayer. So moving day- to understand just how precious this day really was to us, you have to know a little bit of a background.
Jeff is the pastor of Crystal Spring Baptist Church in Roanoke. We needed to move to be closer to the church, the people, and to be in the area to make inviting people to church more practical. We started looking for houses back in March, I found a job in June and we were set to close on a house in July. Well. That didn’t happen. We ended up not closing on the house in July…that was pushed back until August.. then I started my new job (which meant the process had to start all over with new job information) side note: when buying a house, they need to know EVERYTHING. It’s pretty crazy.  Anyways, we ended up having to find a different house (that we love) and now we are there. Living it up!
But if you read that closely we were set to move in July, and by set to move I mean I had already packed up all of the boxes, labeled them, and set them in the rooms for easy access on moving day.  I had made a list of what each person was going to be in charge of, we had our great friends ready to help us and we cancelled on them twice before we actually moved this past weekend (September 22) so for a little over two months we were homeless, living out of boxes, and eating anywhere someone would feed us! Ha ha, luckily we serve at a church where the people actually are the church… so we had a nice bed each night, warm food, and great company thanks to our great friends the Browns, who are actually more like family.

So moving into a house was overdue, and welcomed! We were and are beyond excited. Here are some pictures of moving day…

Starting the day with Panera bagels makes the work bareable :)

Thank you notes for our super awesome friends!

 Working hard...

 or hardly working?
:)

Did I mention I have the best friends in the entire world?
 They are super fun too!
Our first house! We are officially home owners!!!
 We are so excited! :)
Yes, the room was painted orange. No, it is no longer that color.
 Green is now yellow :)
 Yellow is now gray :)

Our bedroom is my favorite. (or the living room) I can't decide :)

Can't reach the celing? No problem!
I have to end with this one. This room was orange, we are doing half purple, half white..  while waiting for the purple to dry before adding the white it looked pretty funky. :) You can however notice the now lovely light fixture. It was gold and yucky.. we revamped it with spray paint!

(Get excited because before and after pictures are coming soon, as well as step by step instructions on projects I have completed to make my house a home….Including my 20 dollar frame wall, and 6 dollar buffet table. )

Texas parents come to visit!

Our Texas parents came to visit and we were so excited to show them around our new city! We enjoyed hanging out with them. We spend time at our local art museum, and the downtown market! We grabbed some fresh fruits, and got a free sample of soap…we are excited about more visits to our local downtown market, it was super fun! Everyone should go check out their local market. Seriously.

Anyway, after our day of site seeing, the girls went shopping, and the boys played games. We of course came back and did crafts. My Texas mom loves to craft as much as I do, and I am so blessed to learn from her! Needless to say we had a wonderful weekend and here are the pictures for proof:
 Our super cute parents :)

 Love my handsom hubs!

"This is a famous paiting!" - Jeff Dickson! :)
 I love her! hahah

This paiting was my favorite :)

We should totally be artisits, in the childrens section of the museum they have tons of fun things to do-- like coloring pictures of the runaway bunny.

This plate says BDazle..and this van was just that.

We had lunch at some friends house, with a spectacular view :)

I’m so sad to see them go, but excited to see them again soon!
